Last Day in Paris -Lunch at Barjot (set3)

June 13 - we left our hotel in Deauville around 8 AM heading back to Paris for our farewell lunch.  We ate a delicious meal featuring duck confit at Barjot where all of the following pictures were taken.  Afterward we our bus took us back to the Crown Plaza where we stowed our luggage and everyone headed out for a free afternoon and evening.   Seniors came back to the hotel around 6 PM to get ready for their special Senior Night in Paris at the Eiffel Tower.

Day 7- photos (set 2). Mont St Michel

Today we traveled 2.5 hours to Mont Saint Michel, a Monestery built on a rocky island just off the Normandy Coast. There are still 8 monks living there today but was at one time a self sustaining community of 80 monks.

Day 6 - photos and activities (set 2)

We hope you are enjoying the pictures.  Yesterday was quite rainy but we still enjoyed Giverny and Monet's gardens.   Today was a beautiful day spent in Normandy.  We visited German bunkers along the coastline and you will see the students exploring these.   These bunkers were taken out on June 6th early in the attack.   We then explored the town of Arrongens which was where the British stormed the beaches.  You will see the floating port that still remains.   We headed to The cemetery at Colleville from there.  What a coincidence.    The students sang America the Beautiful, Irish Blessing and Star Spangled Banner.  They placed a floral wreath at the memorial.  We walked down to the Utah Beach and reflected on the more than 9000 graves.  It was very special and we will have video and audio loaded when we return.  We traveled to another port called HonFleur for dinner and shopping.   The evening was sunny and warm.  Curfew is 11PM.  We visit Mont--St-Michel tomorrow.   The trip continues to be have special special moments each and every day.   Bon Jour!
